Miracles never cease

Yep, that's right I finally blogged.  Though I'm not going to play catch up, I will tell a few recent happenings.
1. I moved back to Provo.

2. I didn't get in to BYU's nursing program (wasn't the best news ever), but have decided to major in Physical Education & Coaching.

3. I went on lots of exciting trips this last summer, backpacking to Coyote Gulch and the Sawtooths, Moab, California and lots of other random excursions.

4. Had surgery on my thumb in March for a torn ligament and was forced to learn how to write and do everything left handed...good times!

5. Started working on campus custodial at 5 am M-F, yeah still not quite sure what I was thinking with that one.

6. My brother Collin got his mission call to the Brasil Goiania Mission!

7. Tanner got home from his mission in May!

8. My family moved to Northern California with my Dad's new job.

9. Went on numerous bike rides all over Provo and Lehi, and rode across the Golden Gate Bridge in SF.  So awesome!

10. Started playing racquetball and now I'm addicted!

11. I cut my hair super short and am now ready for it to be long again!

So that pretty much sums up my life as late.  Things are going well.  Below is a post that one of my friends posted that I think explains me very much.  It was amazing as I read through it to realize how much this describes me exactly!

10 Myths about introverts

Myth #1 – Introverts don’t like to talk. This is not true. Introverts just don’t talk unless they have something to say. They hate small talk. Get an introvert talking about something they are interested in, and they won’t shut up for days.
Myth #2 – Introverts are shy.Shyness has nothing to do with being an Introvert. Introverts are not necessarily afraid of people. What they need is a reason to interact. They don’t interact for the sake of interacting. If you want to talk to an Introvert, just start talking. Don’t worry about being polite.
Myth #3 – Introverts are rude.Introverts often don’t see a reason for beating around the bush with social pleasantries. They want everyone to just be real and honest.Unfortunately, this is not acceptable in most settings, so Introverts can feel a lot of pressure to fit in, which they find exhausting.
Myth #4 – Introverts don’t like people. On the contrary, Introverts intensely value the few friends they have. They can count their close friends on one hand. If you are lucky enough for an introvert to consider you a friend, you probably have a loyal ally for life. Once you have earned their respect as being a person of substance, you’re in.
Myth #5 – Introverts don’t like to go out in public.Nonsense. Introverts just don’t like to go out in public FOR AS LONG. They also like to avoid the complications that are involved in public activities. They take in data and experiences very quickly, and as a result, don’t need to be there for long to “get it.” They’re ready to go home, recharge, and process it all. In fact, recharging is absolutely crucial for Introverts.
Myth #6 – Introverts always want to be alone.Introverts are perfectly comfortable with their own thoughts. They think a lot. They daydream. They like to have problems to work on, puzzles to solve. But they can also get incredibly lonely if they don’t have anyone to share their discoveries with. They crave an authentic and sincere connection with ONE PERSON at a time.
Myth #7 – Introverts are weird.Introverts are often individualists. They don’t follow the crowd. They’d prefer to be valued for their novel ways of living. They think for themselves and because of that, they often challenge the norm. They don’t make most decisions based on what is popular or trendy.
Myth #8 – Introverts are aloof nerds.Introverts are people who primarily look inward, paying close attention to their thoughts and emotions. It’s not that they are incapable of paying attention to what is going on around them, it’s just that their inner world is much more stimulating and rewarding to them.
Myth #9 – Introverts don’t know how to relax and have fun. Introverts typically relax at home or in nature, not in busy public places. Introverts are not thrill seekers and adrenaline junkies. If there is too much talking and noise going on, they shut down. Their brains are too sensitive to the neurotransmitter called Dopamine. Introverts and Extroverts have different dominant neuro-pathways. Just look it up.
Myth #10 – Introverts can fix themselves and become Extroverts. A world without Introverts would be a world with few scientists, musicians, artists, poets, filmmakers, doctors, mathematicians, writers, and philosophers. That being said, there are still plenty of techniques an Extrovert can learn in order to interact with Introverts. (Yes, I reversed these two terms on purpose to show you how biased our society is.) Introverts cannot “fix themselves” and deserve respect for their natural temperament and contributions to the human race. In fact, one study (Silverman, 1986) showed that the percentage of Introverts increases with IQ.

Love at First Sight!

Ok so I went to the mall today with Janis and Starla.  So I have been looking for a pair of black boots that I can wear to Claire's wedding in December.  We went to Nordstrom and Starla found these amazing beauties by Miz Mooz......

Sorry it's not the best quality, but I love them.  Now I just have to convince myself to buy them........

Oh What Do You Do In The Summer Time?

SLIP N SLIDE!!!

Or at least that's what me and the Hunt's do.  It was a fun Saturday.  I started it off by running a 5k for Tiff (pictures to come).  Then came home and jumped on the tramp with the kids and did the slip n slide.  The water was FREEZING, but it was so much fun.  So this post is kind of going to be picture overload, but enjoy!

Yep it was freezing!

Parker!
Garret
Austin
Me.....I had to try and stop myself by the end...most of the time I went off into the grass.
SAFE!
They decided to pull out their bag of tricks...I tried a couple and failed miserably....
Aimee tried to stand and slide, but ended upside down :)
This was the only one that I didn't completely fail at....I didn't get as much of a running start as the kids did, but I made it....just barely.
Parker somersaulted (sp?) down the slip n slide.
And to end everyone laying in the sun trying to get warm.  We would sprint to our towels after going down once.
Overall it was a great day.  I washed my car which got soaked by the sprinkles last night and is now all dirty again, played racquetball and went to Audrey's bridal shower and I have never been more sore in my life.

THE END.

HOT ROD

Well, I am officially back in Utah.  It's great I love it, but I also miss California.  So, my Dad and I drove up last Thursday and Friday we went car shopping.  I have the greatest parents in the world.....they were nice enough to buy me a car and I will eventually be able to pay them back.  So, we looked mostly all over Provo, but finally settled on this sweet ride.....
Complete with pop top and curtains....aren't they kind and can't you see me in one of these!  Ha got ya!

This is the real ride we decided on....a 2002 Honda Accord...it's nice and I like it...though I will definitely miss not having a live-in bus!

There he is...yes I've decided to call it a he....don't really know of any names, so suggestions are welcomed, though I may never name him after all...now for the inside.  These are mostly for my Mom to see what it looks like, so pass by if you don't want to see 'em.

Backseat middle feet on the hump!

Ok so this is the end of my post.  It has taken me an hour and I almost threw my computer across the room...hence why I don't blog very much.  ENJOY!
