5K & Last Home Football Game
After the 5K we decided to go to the last home game. I had been to all of the other games since I have an All-Sports pass, but Ashley had not gone to one yet this season and she had a ticket that she got for a friend. Needless to say it was a great game even though both of us were super tired from the race that morning. I'm going to miss football games for the next 1 1/2 years, but it will be well worth it. Can't wait to watch the game this week! Go Cougs!!!!!

Picture Surfing
Ok so this is the alligator I painted as a sample. I worked forever on this guy. I actually painted him once at the beginning of the summer, but painted him again at the end when I knew how to paint better. This was by far the best one I painted!
I think this is from our last day of work. Actually I know it is. Shalon had already left the week earlier :(
This is from a theatre that they have up there it was pretty cool lots of secret spots to climb down in and explore. Unfortunately Sarah and I were too tired and hungry to explore too much.

Sarah and I woke up super early one morning to hike up to 1st and 2nd falls before work. Don't mind the no make up and super tired faces :)

Prop 8
I just wanted to take a minute to talk to you all about something very important that is coming up on Nov. 4 this year. I am sure that you have all heard about Proposition 8. I would like to ask each and every one of you to join with me in voting Yes on this Proposition.
Some of you may feel hesitant about this, but I would like you to consider a few things. If the proposition passes, the only thing that will happen is that homosexual couples will not be able to be married. However, they will still have the rights which exist now. In CA, homosexual couples are able to register as domestic partners and are given the same rights, protections, and benefits as married couples. If however, Proposition 8 fails, we can expect many changes to take place which would have an adverse affect on our future. Public schools will be required to teach about same-gender marriage as well as traditional marriage starting as young as kindergarten and first grade. They will also be required to teach about same-gender relations in the sex education classes as well.
We really need to consider each side carefully before a decision is made. If you think about it in terms of our beliefs, it is easy to see where a major issue may arise. I firmly believe in our definition of marriage as being divinely appointed between one man and one woman that will allow us to become more like our Heavenly Father as we progress toward our goal of eternal salvation. I feel that it is so important that we stand up for what we know to be right and true as we are faced with this particular issue.
I hope that you all know that I am not saying any of this as an attack on individual with same-sex tendencies. I have many friends who struggle with that exact thing, many of them are members of the church. I still feel that they are wonderful people and I love them dearly. However, I still do not want to make it legal for two men or two women to be joined in marriage.
I strongly encourage all of you to register to vote now if you have not already done so and to vote with me as we work to get this proposition passed. Please also talk to all of your friends about it as well. The more people that join with us, the better chance we will have.

Fall
Well Fall is officially here. Yeah I know I am a little late, but I've been busy. Fall is so much fun at least until it gets too cold. Today was pretty cold I think it only got up to like 48. Needless to say I froze!!!! It is so fun to see all the leaves changing colors and how beautiful they are. Last Friday I went on a bike ride with Lakeridge Junior High for a class and we rode up to Bridal Veil Falls (23 miles). It was beautiful up there. I have a few pictures that turned out semi good considering that I only had my cell phone to take pictures with. It was so much fun and I hope that I can do it again sometime soon before it gets too unbearable cold. On another note, the BYU homecoming game is tomorrow against New Mexico. It should be a super fun game besides the fact that it is supposed to snow. Tanner is coming down as well to watch the game. I'm super excited to see him since I have not seen him for a while. We are going to go and eat blue pancakes tomorrow. More to come on that though when I can say how everything went. Other than that classes are going well except for that it's midterms/papers/stress time. I think it would be marvelous if they could plan it so that everything is not all at once for every class!! Oh well that will probably never happen, but I dare to dream. Well that's about it. More to come on how the weekend goes, as for now here are the pictures from the bike ride.

MAWIAGE!!!!
We kind of knew it was coming, but did not know exactly when, so when Shalon texted me tonight and told me I was so excited!!! They are the greatest, and pretty much I knew from the beginning that it was going to happen. I am so excited for them. Pretty much Shalon has become one of my best friends after working with her for the whole summer up at Aspen Grove.
Oh man I just can't stop thinking about it as Tae and I sit here waiting for her to come home so that we can congratulate her as soon as she walks in the door! It will probably be one of the longest waits of our lives, but when she comes home it will be the greatest. I am even more happy that they are getting married before I go on my mission so that I will be there to congratulate them! I am so happy that I have Shalon as a friend, and Skyler too they are the greatest!!!!
Yay Shalony!!! I love you! You and Skyler are the greatest!!!!!!!!
In other news I still have not started my papers, but hopefully will get my records back in my ward here from wherever they were in cyberspace over the summer. Hopefully next Sunday will be the magical day!! Also I am loving my classes. Archaeology and my class where I am learning to coach and teach PE are definitely at the top of my list as favorites. My other classes are going good as well.
The Creamery is doing good and I continue to work there as a grocery supervisor. I am finding that it has been a little more tolerable considering that the assistant full time manager told me that I am doing a great job and that she loves to see my smiling face every MWF morning. She is the greatest, I have always enjoyed working with her! Also there are lots of new people to get to know.
Our ward is great and there are some many cool and new people. It is going to be fun to get to know them. Pretty much our whole ward is completely new, which is super exciting. So pretty much my life is great and I am loving it!!!!!

Top 10 ways to be an annoying guest at Aspen Grove!
9. Ask what time we close when we just announced it 2 seconds before.
8. Make a huge mess on the pottery bridge right after we cleaned it.
7. Asking for an adult brush when you are not an adult.
6. Talking to us like we are stupid when we have worked here all summer and know what we are doing.
5. Cutting in front of all the other guests who have been waiting forever already.
4. Trying to convince us to let you in early, when we have things we need to do to get it ready to open first.
3. Asking why they have to do something when they asked for our help.
2. Complaining about your project not turning out how you liked it when we warned you that because you did this and that it might not turn out very good. Your fault not ours.
1. Being a Huish, and just being downright rude.

Thoughts
It is by far the most intriguing book that I have read in a very long time. I was talking to my Dad about it last night and how much I enjoy learning about wars: what happened during them, how they started and pretty much just everything about them. Yeah I know war is not a good thing, but I find it very intriguing to learn all about it. The more I can learn about it the better. In this book it talks mostly about World War II, but it talks about the first world war as well. I actually find it scary thinking about things like the draft, which it talks about and how one family lost four sons in the course of like a month. I distinctly remember reading about it and then immediately thought about how my younger brother Tanner had to fill out a paper if there ever were a draft. My mom was explaining it to me and how it probably would never happen, but just thinking that it could and the war that is going on in Iraq scares me to death. I don't know what would ever happen if there was a draft and Tanner was drafted. This has definitely made me think more about how important families are and how important it is to be close to them. Most importantly though I think of how grateful I am to have a family and be able to talk to them and be close to them. Okay, so enough of that, but just realized this and needed to write it somewhere. Love you all!!!Saturday, July 5, 2008
WOW!!!

First base

Look at that concentration!!! She's pro already

Tongue out just like me..hahahaha!

It was her turn to bat and she was posing for the camera. What a girl!!! Love her!

Parker at bat. He was pretty dang good.

At the parade with the sweet shoe float.

RODEO!! Aimee, Me & Tae

So this was about halfway through the rodeo they had these motorcycle guys come and jump the ramps. It was pretty sweet needless to say. The blur in the sky is the motorcyclist.

Parker's favorite ones. They smelled so bad, but he loved them. He would have been content with just doing those ones all night.

Swinging!!! Aimee's favorite

Watching fireworks..it was super windy.
